Description
INFO
Description: Komi (Perea) was named after the Earl (Komis = Earl) who had occupied the region. A two meter marble engraved column dating from the pre-christian period can be seen in the churchyard of Aghios Ioannis (St.John).
The valley of Komi, which is called Livadi, is very fertile and ends to the beautiful sandy beach Kolympithra and the small lagoon-biotope where swans, ducks and other migratory birds are gathered. In the middle of the gulf of Kolympithra lies, like a dragon resting, the small island Drakonissi. The view to the sea and the green meadow from the chapel of Aghios Fylaktos is unique.
