Biography

1971 marked the beginning of what later on became my passion in photography and film. It all started when I joined my hometown's gymnasium, Morphou B', photography club.
After the Turkish invasion of Cyprus in 1974, my family and I were displaced and moved to Nicosia where I started working as a cameraman and editor in the film unit of the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation (CYBC), in 1977.
11 years later, I became one of the founding members of Lumiere Services and LTV, where I held the managing position of producing and directing TV commercials and various corporate films in Cyprus, Greece and Middle East.
In 1999, I left Lumiere Services and LTV and joined MediaBox, where I directed a number of successful TV series , documentaries and Corporate films .
Since 2011 I have been running my own company, Michaelangelo Cinematographic Services, following my passion and building on my experience to produce and direct new films in Cyprus and abroad.

Achievements and Awards
- Received numerous awards and distinctions in both local and international film festivals for various commercials and documentaries (listed below).
- My latest short films, "Corridors" and "Omikron Plus" received international film festival awards.
- Acted as president of the Cypriot Directors Guild, for a number of years, during which I exercised art and commercial photography
- Co-founded "Photodos" art photography club in Nicosia, Cyprus
- Founded the "Photographic & Cinematographic" club in Engomi, Cyprus, where I deliver workshops on creative photography
- Acted as a judge in numerous local and international film and photo contents.
- Anna Marangou and I published the book "'Αποψη Γής/Apopsi Gis" featuring my photographs. Text by Anna Marangou.
- In 2014 I directed the theatrical play "Ιερόδουλες του Αριστοφάνη/Ιerodoules tou Aristofani", written by Maria Marmara.

Social activities
Member of the "Lions Nicosia Within the Walls" club since 2000.

Personal
I am married and proud father of three children.
I love music and travelling.
