Description

The municipality of Geri (or Yeri) is located 10 km south-east of the capital of Cyprus, Nicosia, and is about 4 km away from the University Campus, the Nicosia General Hospital and the National Park. Unfortunately, a part of the municipality has been occupied since 1974 whereas another smaller part is in the buffer zone.

At Geri, tradition and modernization coexist harmonically. In the centre of the municipality one can see a picturesque neighbourhood with houses of "traditional architecture built of bricks", narrow pathways and a paved square whereas in the periphery of the municipality houses and apartment buildings of modern architecture are being constructed.
