Information:

Michael Zampelas, together with his wife Loukia Zampelas, have been collecting and supporting the work of many Cypriot, Greek and foreign artists for a period of over forty years. The turning of the millennium and their love for the arts fuelled their desire to promote the work of upcoming as well as established artists, and expose it to the public. Hence, they founded the company Zampelas Art, as a means to make this a reality.

An open call for a competition to create a catalogue/publication of the 100 best Cypriot artists of the 3rd millennium became the first venture of Zampelas Art. Art critics from the UK, Italy, Greece and Cyprus studied the 500 submitted works and selected 100 of these for inclusion in the catalogue “Cypriot Artists of the 3rd Millenium”. This catalogue can be found in many museum libraries around the world. Zampelas Art also went ahead and acquired these works, aspiring in the future to establish an Art Museum which would promote cultural production in Cyprus.

Zampelas Art sets as its primary objective the establishment of a complete Art Centre which will promote art and culture in Cyprus and abroad. The company has now founded the Loukia and Michael Zampelas Art Museum, a non-profit private organisation which seeks to make art accessible to all. Furthermore, other art-related ventures were created under the brand name Zmart. These are: Zmart Education, Zmart Gallery, Zmart Shop, Zmart Café and Zmart Framing. In addition to this, Zampelas Art has launched the Journal of Arts, a new quarterly e-journal dedicated to the arts.
