Description

The decorated bread, housed in a building of 1950s is the unique Museum of decorated breads in Cyprus. Its purpose is the preservation and dissemination of the cultural heritage, focused on bread that beyond food commodity and utilitarian object is treated as a Visual work of art, culture, means of expression, sacred symbol and ritual object. The Museum presents audiovisual material for the exhibits in Greek, English and Russian. In addition to the exhibit hall, in space there are Conference Hall, workshop, library and reading room.

On a weekly basis, made in Museum Labs creative employment of children (five to eight years), music education (two years), theatrical workshop for adults and book club for adults and children. Occasionally organized other workshops such as manufacturing and/or ploymismatos bread and wine tasting nights. The space available for hosting exhibitions, lectures and cultural events. Also, for school groups offered museum education programs, designed for all levels of education. Still, conducted research projects involving students of folklore recordings.

For the tour organized groups of visitors, the Museum offered a number of modules from which the team can select the desired combination that meets the needs of (30-150 minutes, 2-7 Euros/person).

Modules: reception, lectures, guided tour of the exhibits, demonstration, workshop ploymismatos ploymismatos bread, a traditional treat.
