Information

The Museum of education, collaboration of the Cyprus organisation of Greek Teachers with Vasa Kilaniou community, is the only one of its kind in Cyprus and is characterized for the title of "The School of Vasa remembers ...". Housed on the site of the old arrenagwgeioy, on a hill near the center of the village. The four sections of the Museum cover both the history of the community, as well as that of the Cypriot primary education in rural areas, during periods of Occupation and Agglokratias. The first section presents the history of the Basas through touch screens and other audio-visual material. Also, lists the five most important personalities of Education related to the village: Stylianos Xoyrmoyzios, Ali Smith, Helen Zachariadoy, Andreas Nicolaides and Dimitris Lipertis. H second section presents the history of Education in the period of Turkish occupation. The landscaped area reminiscent of Church, the diverse audiovisual material and a touchscreen with rare photos, a reference to time. The site also exhibited pages from the first books, "mathimataria", and given information about the sentences of the school life. H third section covers the history of Education in the English Occupied Era, within an area reminiscent of the Education Office of the English Colonial Government. The touch screen shows the adventure of Greek education during this period. Are also old textbooks and handmade notebooks. The fourth section represents and revives a traditional class of a school as a school operated in the late 19th and early 20th century. Educational program offered to school groups, by prior arrangement.
