Information

The Museum of Printmaking is the first and only Museum of engraving of Cyprus. Here visitors are aware of the history of printmaking, techniques and materials, printmaking presses as well as projects and their creators. Exposed more than two hundred engravings, from the 16th century until today, from Cyprus and other countries of the world. A part of the museum displays more than seventy engravings Cypriot artists. In another room are exposed approximately eighty international projects, woodcuts, engravings, lithographs and linografies. In special showcases old books with original engravings, all technical tools, engraving engraved plates of various techniques with their prints, photographic and other documents. In another room are presented works by engraver Hambis, while two rooms dedicated to temporary exhibitions. Within the School there is a permanent exhibition of works by students of the school since 1995. The school-Museum Printmaking organizes free courses of engraving, special laboratories (various techniques of engraving), lectures and film screenings. There are also a variety of educational activities for children, as for example etching workshop (linografias) and programs on the folk art of Cyprus. Free guided tours are offered at both individual visitors and groups. The tour organised groups following a settlement.
