Information
The Municipal Museum of folk art, housed in the Centre of Limassol in historic edification, the sample of urban architecture. Includes rich and valuable collections of Cypriot folk art and crafts, from the late 19th century until the early 20th century, as collections of clothing, embroidery, woodwork, rural and agricultural tools and utensils, jewellery, decorative objects and furniture. The Museum was awarded in 1988 with the Europa Nostra Award. Some of the objects that are hosted in the Museum are the following: loom, "doulappin", spindle, spinning wheel, draw, engraved voufa, embroidery, doilies, framed with Cocoon, Cypriot traditional costumes, chests of drawers, consoles, wood carvings, wood trunks, mirrors, baskets, copper dishes, pottery, bronze teapots, mugs, lamps, chairs, small stools, Cypriot, sickles, and zempylia ". In addition, the Museum exhibited loom and all about weaving, changes of Cypriot sagias and flak collection. There is also the urban clothing and urban decoration, the spatial attire and the peasant paintings, the dowry, the asproploymia, the ronarettoi, the tantelles, the Golden jewels, the visitors, the tools of agricultural life etc.
