Information

The Carob Museum is housed in a traditional stone building of 1889 which unravels the story of locust, their origin, the various categories, varietals, their use and the use of stoning and their derivatives. In addition, the Museum presents the traditional manufacturing method and locust tree honey from pastelli (traditional dish with an essential ingredient of the carob juice). What makes this museum unique is the ability that gives visitors to become acquainted with experiential manner the traditional manufacturing method and as locust tree honey from pastelli rescued from generation to generation. At the workshop, which is located next to the Museum, presented live by the manufacturing process and there is the possibility to test dishes from carob. Offered tours for large groups of 20 minutes duration.
