Klopedi Sanctuary is located north - west of Agia Paraskevi and it’s one of the most representative examples of the Archaic architecture of Lesvos. The temple is, probably, dedicated to Apollo Napaeos and it was first built the 8th century BC, while it took its final appearance during the 6thcentury BC. Excavations revealed the remains of two Archaic temples. One of them, the biggest one, had high columns and peculiar Aeolian capitals which are exhibited today to the Archaeological Museum of Mytilini. This simple architecture is a common characteristic of the Archaic art not only in Lesvos, but also in many seaside towns of Asia Minor.
