Description

Stipsi is located in the northern part of the island, 52km from the town of Mytilene. The village is very picturesque with numerous cafes and taverns located on the main road.

The inhabitants are occupied with olive growing and cattle breeding. In Stipsi, the Community Cooperative bottles and sells local "Stipsi olive oil".

The village is famous for its typical custom of marriage, which is traditional. Traditional orchestra takes the bride and relatives from her home with the direction of the groom's house.

The biggest social event of the village is the festival which takes place on August 23 and that attracts many visitors who gather in the square and taste the traditional "kiskek".
