Polichnitos

;

Description

Polichnitos is located in the southern part of the gulf of Kaloni, in a deep valley surrounded by hills. It was built on a volcanic rock called ‘ignimvrites’ (a kind of stone), on which all houses are built.

The name of the village is the combination of the word ‘Polichni’ meaning small town followed by a combination of words traced from decades old argo.

Sights of the village are the sacred temple of St. George, a mosque during the Turkish occupation, the Folklore Museum and thermal springs of Polichnitos.

Finally, it is worth a walk on the cobbled streets of the village which is classified as a preserved settlement.
