Description

Klio is located 43.4 km from the city of Mytilene, at an altitude of 300 m. The village got its name from the muse Clio. It is a small village with several old houses and impressive mills.

Sights are the present church of the Agia Triada with the wooden temple and the holy vessels of the 18th century. In Paleokastro, 3 km northeast of the village, one can find the Byzantine castle of Agios Theodoros. Inside the castle there are traces of distinguished houses, and the church of Agia Kiriaki. To the west of the castle, one can meet the ruins of the church of Agia Anastasia.
