Description

Akrasi is located 42km west of Mytilene and 17.5km north west of Plomari. It took its name from the phrase ‘Akra Sion’ which means absolute silence. The village was renowned for the production of quality wine. Here, one can find old traditional houses with interesting architecture.

Ancient remains from the area of ‘Saint Anthony’ were transfered to the Archaeological Museum of Mytilene, available for visitors to see all year round. The old school of Akrasi, has been formed into a museum and hosts various folklore exhibits.
