Description

Agia Marina is located on the eastern side of Mountain ‘Amali’ at 150m altitude, just 7.3 km from the town of Mytilene and very close to Taxiarches village. It is the birthplace of the very well known poet Demetrios Vernadakis (1833 -1907).  

The church of ‘Agia Marina’ - located at the lowest point of the village, is a place worth visiting due to its very graphic and old typical greek beauty. From the top of the village on the slope of ‘Amali’ begins a rural road leading all the way through a green pine to Kratigos and the Airport. Also, on the way one can observe olive trees as well as melon fields.
