Description

The church of Metamorfosis Sotiros (The Transfiguration of Christ) is located in Papiana village and, according to an inscription found, it was built in 1600. It is a single-aisled wooden-roof basilica with a narthex.

The frescoes of the church, influenced by the Cretan tradition, as well as the icons are particularly interesting.
