Description

The Digital Museum "George Iakovidis" in Chidira of Lesvos, the birthplace of the painter, is the first fully Digital Art Museum in Greece. Designed according to a special museological study based on new technologies, faithfully highlights the life and work of the renowned Greek painter through a variety of electronic digital projection and interaction systems. The works presented in the museum are all digital reproductions. 

Τhe artworks are brought alive through thematic units and by using various tricks such as a magnifying glass, the isolation of the table data during the analysis, comparison with other artworks of the painter or his teachers, and the combination of narration and graphics.

The creation of the Digital Museum "George Iakovidis", is an initiative of the Educational and Cultural Foundation "N. G. PAPADIMITRIOU". Its purpose is to function as a “meeting point” of Technology and Art, offering visitors of all ages an artistic experience through pleasure and knowledge.
