Description

Description: Between Arkasa and Pyles is the small fishing village of Finiki. Finiki is well known for the fresh fish restaurants. A small port where you will certainly see many wooden boats and fishermen. Finiki used to be the main port for business and goods in the past long before Pigadia. If you walk around the paths you will see the way the houses were built in the beginning of the century, as well as the big building which served as Italian police headquarters when Karpathos was under Italian occupation. Furthermore near the beach you will see the monument of the boat Immakolata and the brave men which in October of 1944 brought the message of the rebelled Karpathos to the Allies in Egypt.

Park your car, try the delicious fish and traditional ¡mezedes¢ from the restaurants, enjoy your coffee or drink, shop your souvenirs from the little shop in the beginning of the village and walk to the quiet beaches of Kamarakia and Agios Georgios (Ai Giorgis) where you can also swim. Visit the little church of Agios Nikolaos on top of the hill where you can set yourself in your own Mamma Mia movie wedding scenery with a great view of the sea!
