Tristomo

;

Description

Description: Tristomo is the northernmost settlement of Karpathos and you can reach it only on foot or by boat. Almost uninhabited in an amazing area, it forms a ¡sea lake¢ as its separated by the open sea with three openings. That¢s where it takes its name from. It was the port used by the ancient town of Vrykous but because it was, and still is, very hard to get there from the land it was abandoned. During the Italian occupation there was a small Italian navy camp here and you can still see the remaining of it. If you decide to hike to Tristomo, please be sure you have lots of water and food with you!
