Description

The first library in Deryneia created the Cultural Association "Renaissance" was founded in 1920. Then created the Community Library housed in different places and at times functioned as lending to voluntary initiative of progressive education. Libraries later created the Primary Schools and other institutions of the Municipality. In 1994 with the upgrade of the institution of local government and the proclamation of Deryneia Municipality in the Community Library was renamed Municipal. Enriched with a large number of books and works as a lending since 1999 and is housed on the first floor of City Hall. In 2003 the site of the Library expanded. Currently has 12,000 volumes and constantly enriched. There are carefully selected books for education, research, entertainment, and a large collection of children's books. 

The constant search for new valuable qualifications and publications and their assurance effort, is one of the main tasks of the Municipal Library. The library is record books purchased or donated to the municipality, stamped and recorded in the library register. The borrowed through tabs that hold the members. Very worthwhile activity develops our City Library and in the promotion of the institution. Organizes book presentations, invites writers, etc. Membership is open to children and adults from Deryneia and the surrounding area.

 It operates all year round, only afternoons, on days Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
