Just few kilometers away from Paralimni town but within the Paralimni borders is the area of Protaras. Protaras was known for its windmills, hundreds of windmills once stood where Protaras stands today from half century ago and when you look around you will still see them adding culture to the beautiful areas of Protaras. In recent years the whole area has taken the name Protaras, which now stretches 10 kilometers and covers Kapparis, Pernera, Cavo Greco, Green Bay, Ayia Triada and the Golden coast areas. As opposed to just the horse shoe shaped bay with sparkling crystal waters, white sand and natural peculiarities in the coast lined caves and arches eroded by the waves.

Protaras owns many blue flags for its beaches and possesses some of the most beautiful beaches all over the world according to people voting.
