Ayia Napa Medieval Monastery is situated in the heart of Ayia Napa or it can be set as this Monastery is the heart of Ayia Napa. The reason is that this monastery was the funding place of the village of where the name comes from Ayia Napa translated from ancient Greek as "Blessed Forest". 

Nevertheless, if you put the name from backwards to front it leads to the name Panayia which is the name of the figure found by a hunter in the cave of where the monastery was founded after the discovery of this hunter. Panayia in Greek is translated as the mother of Christ and the monastery is believed to be more than 500 years old.
