Wake - up actions to protect the marine ecosystem, June 2017

On the occasion of the World Environment Day, which is celebrated every year on 5th June, KDEPPAM organizes wake-up actions to protect the marine ecosystem and reduce the use of plastic bags:

3rd & 4th June
Cleaning of beaches and debris in collaboration with Katerina Topouzoglou from "All For Blue"
-Saturday 3 June 10.30 cleaning Ftelia beach
Sunday 4 June 10.30 cleaning Korfou beach

June 5th at Cine Manto
20:00. Speech by Katerina Topouzoglou, World Underwater Shooting Champion and the only recognized Shark Aware Instructor in Greece, about the importance of protecting the marine ecosystem and sharks.
21:00. A preview of the film "A plastic Ocean" in a first pan-Hellenic screening. The film begins when journalist Craig Leeson, looking for the blue whale, discovers plastic waste to the point where the ocean should be virgin. Free entrance. (Without Greek subtitles)

In June, actions will be taken to inform and raise awareness of the impact of the plastic bag on the environment and proposals for the use of alternative means.
