Description

Ancient Pyrra (8th - 3rd century BC)

The Theater

On the south side of the acropolis rock, in its (artificial?) Ditch, just behind the south rocky projection of the great eastern gate, there are carved in the rock the theater dwellings. At the highest point, several rows are distinguished, while lower projections are scattered across the olive grove floor. His direction shows "the shaping of the hollow" and, as Mr Paullelis rightly pointed out, two embankments on both sides are preserved for its construction. The Orchestra will be at a lower level of the olive grove.
