Description

Agra is a beautiful rural village, one of the oldest of Lesvos, situated on an imposing hill, 10 km from the sea. The village is surrounded by a beautiful forest of high pine trees. In the village there is a lovely square with trees for shade.  One of the trees growing in the square is claimed to be over 700 years old.

Agra’s church of ‘Agios Dimitrios’ contains an iconostasis of carved wood and is of substantial old beauty. It was constructed in 1807 and it's a rare work of art.
