Vareltzidena Mansion in Petra

;

Description

Vareltzidena Mansion took its name from the last woman who lived there (died in 1940 at the age of 100 years) and is located in the center of Petra village. It is one of the very few surviving traditional mansions of Lesvos of the 18th and 19th century, saving valuable fresco decoration. The architecture follows the era’s common standard layout of the mansion houses, usually built in the center of rural estates with fenced courtyard.

Visitors have the opportunity to feel that time's luxury, observing the preserved furniture and the rich household items collection.
