Description: Arkasa is a coastal village on the southwestern side of the island. Named after Arkessia, which was the ancient settlement, it offers a great deal of things for the visitor. You should not miss the great Mosaic floors near the Agia Sophia church and the small museum, even though the best mosaics have been transferred to Rhodes island museum. In the hill of Paleokastro you can see the remaining of the old settlement. Moreover visit The church of Ypapanti with the tall bell tower in the centre of the village.

Easy to walk around, you will see that Arkassa is a place full of life. Hotels, restaurants, coffee shops, bars, super markets, pharmacy, it offers anything a visitor can ask for, alongside with the sandy beach of Agios Nikolaos which is a main destination both for tourists and Greeks. A beach well known for the beach volley the locals play, as well as the big waves.
