Description

The Folk Art Museum Deryneia housed in an old traditional house in the street Dimitris Liperti 2 donated pair Barnabas and Margaret Chatziliasi in memory of the three children who died at a young age. The building was declared preserved and renovated by the municipality under the supervision of Town Planning and Housing Department. 

The configuration of the interior and exterior of the Folklore Museum and the reports of the various items of household equipment and farm tools made with the cooperation of the Service Handicraft and represent as closely as possible to their functionality in traditional Cypriot home. The Folklore Museum exhibits except equipment of a traditional Cypriot house and agricultural tools used by a traditional farming family in the area. 

All items offered for free by the residents of the municipality and the surrounding area. The operation of the Folklore Museum is alive with the presence of Mrs. Margaret and Mr. Barnabas Chatziliasi. Outside the museum stands the oven, which Ms. Margarita Chatziliasi often used to bake breads and buns. 

Museum hours: 

Spring: Monday - Saturday excluding holidays 9:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 18:00 

winter: Monday - Saturday excluding holidays 9:00 to 13:00 and 15:00 to 5:00 p.m.
